Arteterapia en Barcelona

Sibylle Cseri

«Express yourself, create, explore, imagine, discover, connect, transform to heal»

My goal as a therapist is to accompany you in your healing journey through attentive listening, deep respect and empathy. I live with dedication and inspiration the transformative power of art and its healing capacity in therapy.

I discovered art therapy during my fine arts studies in the United States. Throughout my studies, I was able to experience the potential that art has on psychological and emotional processes and its capacity for healing and transformation. This discovery not only motivated me to investigate further, but rather inspired me to train in art psychotherapy.

My Origins

I am of Hungarian/German origin and decided to return to Europe after my studies in the USA, in order to become part of the pioneer group of the 1st Master’s Program in Art Therapy in Spain (1999), which took place in the Fine Arts department at the University of Barcelona.
In my early years, art therapy was completely unknown in Spain. This however motivated me to dedicate myself with passion to the development and promotion of Art Therapy.

Initiatives

I have participated as co-founder of the following organizations:
2002, Spanish Professional Association of Art Therapy (ATE).
2006, the Spanish Federation of Art Therapy (FEAPA).
2019 the European Federation of Art Therapy (EFAT) based in Brussels.

The art therapy profession is my vocation and allows me to accompany people with a wide variety of needs and vital circumstances in a variety of settings (hospitals, schools, day centres, private practice, etc.) I love to work together with other professionals and within a holistic and person centred approach.

Collaborations

I also enjoy collaborating as lecturer with various art therapy training institutes inside and outside of Spain and offer support as well to professional art therapists as  clinical supervisor.

Life gave me multicultural roots and fluency in many languages, while feeling “at home” within various cultural contexts. I attend in face to face sessions in Barcelona and in online format, which allows me to accompany and collaborate globally in countries such as: Mexico, Argentina, India, United Arab Emirates, Dubai, England, Austria, USA, South Africa, among others.
